The Solo Session Experience — What to Expect
Before you arrive We'll confirm your session details, answer any questions about what to wear, and make sure you know exactly where to go at Jack London Square. Parking is easy and we'll send directions in advance.
When you arrive The studio is private and relaxed. You'll meet Sergio, get a quick tour of the space, and we'll talk briefly about what you're looking for — your industry, how you plan to use the photos, and what vibe you're going for. Professional and Mordern. Approachable and warm? We tailor the session to what works for you.
During the session Every pose and expression is directed. You won't be standing there wondering what to do with your hands. We'll work through multiple looks and outfit changes if you've brought options, and you'll be able to see shots on a tethered monitor in real time so nothing is a surprise.
After the session Your proofing gallery arrives within 2–3 days. You select your favorites, we handle all the editing, and your final images are delivered within 1–2 weeks — ready for LinkedIn, your website, your email signature, press materials, or wherever else you need them.

WHAT TO WEAR
Solid colors photograph best — navy, charcoal, burgundy, forest green, warm neutrals, and black all work well. Avoid busy patterns, large logos, and anything that's more visually interesting than your face.
Bring 2–3 outfit options and we'll decide together before the session starts. Think about what you'd wear to an important meeting, a keynote, or a client presentation,not necessarily your most formal outfit, but your most confident one.A few specific things that work particularly well for women's headshots:
V-necks and scoop necks tend to be more flattering than high necklines in a headshot crop
Structured jackets and blazers photograph beautifully and read as authoritative without being stiff
Simple jewelry works well, statement pieces can occasionally distract, but don't overthink it
If you wear makeup regularly, wear it as you normally would for an important professional day, the camera tends to soften everything slightly
Hair and makeup is not included in the standard session, but we're happy to recommend local stylists if you'd like to add that to your session day.

Do I need to know how to pose? Not at all. Every shot is fully directed — posture, expression, chin position, shoulder angle. Most clients say the session felt completely natural by the end, even if they were nervous walking in. Camera-shy clients consistently get their best results.
What should I bring to my session? Bring 2–3 outfit options in solid colors. Wear your hair and makeup as you normally would for an important professional day. Arrive a few minutes early so you're not rushed — that's it.
How many photos will I get? Your session includes 4 professionally edited final images. You'll receive a proofing gallery of all the selects from your session within 2–3 days, choose your favorites, and we edit those to final delivery standard. Additional images are available at $75 each.
How long until I get my photos? Proofing gallery within 2–3 days of your session. Final edited images within 1–2 weeks. Rush delivery is available if you need them sooner for a press deadline, website launch, or event.
Where is the studio? Jack London Square in Oakland, CA. Easy freeway access from I-880 and I-580, walkable from the 12th Street Oakland City Center BART station, and a straight shot across the Bay Bridge from San Francisco. Parking is easy.
Do you come to my office or location? Yes, for an additional fee. We bring a fully equipped mobile studio to your Bay Area office or preferred location. Contact us for onsite pricing.
Can I book a session for myself and a colleague at the same time? Yes. Back-to-back solo sessions can be scheduled on the same day. For groups of 10 or more, our team headshot day packages are a better fit — starting at $2,000.
Is this session right for me if I've never liked photos of myself? That's exactly who this session is designed for. The direction, the pacing, and the real-time feedback on the tethered monitor are specifically built to get past the awkwardness and get to something you'll actually want to use.
