Frequently Asked Questions Team Headshots & Onsite Headshot Days

Team Headshot FAQ Camerawerkz
How does pricing work for team headshot days?
Team headshot day pricing is based on the size of your team, the length of the session, and whether we're coming onsite to you or you're coming to our Jack London Square studio. Every team is different, so we put together a custom quote rather than a one-size-fits-all rate. Fill out the quick quote form or call or text Sergio directly at (510) 506-4892 and we'll get you a clear number fast.
How long does a team headshot day take?
That depends on the size of your team. We allow 5 to 10 minutes per person, plus 45 to 60 minutes for setup and breakdown. A team of 20 typically wraps in half a day. A team of 50 or more may run a full day or span two days. We'll give you a clear time estimate when you reach out.
How long does a solo headshot session take?
Solo studio sessions run 30 to 45 minutes. That includes outfit changes, background selection, and full direction on every shot.
Do you come to our office?
Yes. Onsite team headshot days are one of our most requested services. We bring a complete professional studio setup — lights, backdrops, equipment — and build it out in your conference room, lobby, or any open space. We work around your team's schedule so the workday keeps moving.
What space do you need to set up onsite?
A standard conference room works perfectly. We need roughly a 10 by 12 foot area with access to a standard power outlet. We handle everything else.
How do you keep headshots consistent across a large team?
Consistency is the core of what we do for teams. We use the same lighting setup, the same camera position, and the same direction for every person. Whether you have 5 people or 500, every headshot matches — same background, same quality, same look and feel across your entire organization.
What if we have remote employees or people who miss the shoot day?
Not a problem. Remote team members can visit our Jack London Square studio at a separately scheduled time and receive the exact same setup used on your team headshot day. We keep your background color and lighting on file so late additions match seamlessly.
Do our employees need any experience in front of a camera?
None at all. We direct every person through posture, expression, and angle. Camera-shy employees consistently leave surprised by how their photos turned out. Our job is to make everyone look their best, not just the people who are already comfortable on camera.
How fast will we receive the photos?
You'll receive a proofing gallery within 2 to 3 business days of the shoot. Final professionally edited images are delivered within 1 to 2 weeks. Rush delivery is available if you're working toward a deadline.
How are the photos delivered?
All final images are delivered via a private online gallery. Each team member can download their own photos directly. We can also provide a single organized download for your HR or marketing team.
What backgrounds are available?
We offer a range of background options including white, light gray, dark gray, and other neutral tones. If your organization has a specific brand standard, let us know and we'll do our best to match it. We're happy to discuss what works best for your website, LinkedIn, and internal materials.
Can we match headshots to ones we already have? Yes. If you have existing headshots and want new team members to match, send us a sample before booking. We'll do our best to replicate the setup as closely as possible.
What industries do you work with?
We regularly photograph law firms, tech and biotech companies, nonprofits, healthcare organizations, financial services firms, real estate brokerages, government agencies, startups, and university-affiliated teams throughout the Bay Area.
Do you travel outside the Bay Area?
Yes. We're based in Oakland and serve the entire Bay Area, but we're available for onsite headshot days anywhere in California and nationwide for larger engagements.
How do we get started?
Fill out the quick quote form on any page of the site, or call and text Sergio directly at (510) 506-4892. Tell us your team size, location, and any timing needs and we'll take it from there.
More Headshot FAQ Camerawerkz
What should employees wear for a team headshot day?
Solid colors work best on camera — navy, charcoal, burgundy, forest green, and soft neutrals all photograph well. Avoid busy patterns, logos, and bright white or neon colors. Classic, well-fitted professional attire at your normal workplace standard is ideal. Encourage employees to bring a second top as a backup — a few minutes of wardrobe flexibility makes a big difference. We send wardrobe guidance to every client before the shoot day so your team shows up prepared.
How far in advance should we book?
Two to four weeks in advance is typical for most team sizes. For larger organizations or specific date requirements, four to six weeks is safer. Rush bookings for smaller teams are often possible with less notice — call or text Sergio at (510) 506-4892 and we'll tell you what's available.
What happens if someone misses the team headshot day?
Not a problem. Anyone who misses the shoot can come to our Jack London Square studio in Oakland for an individual session using the exact same setup — same lighting, same backdrop, same quality. Their headshot will match the rest of the team seamlessly. We build a makeup process into every team engagement as standard.
Are AI headshots a good alternative to professional team headshots?
For individuals on a tight budget, AI headshot tools are a legitimate option. For teams, they create a fundamental problem that AI cannot solve — each person's image is generated independently, so the results don't match across your team page. A team page built from AI headshots looks like exactly what it is: a collection of individually generated images with no visual consistency. For team headshots specifically, a professional photographer with a documented setup is the only way to achieve a staff page that looks like one organization.
Where is your studio located and how do I get there?
Our studio is at Jack London Square in Oakland, CA. By BART — about 10 minutes on foot from the 12th Street Oakland City Center station. From San Francisco it's a 20-minute direct ride. By car — easy off I-880 and I-580 with street parking available at Jack London Square. From San Francisco it's 15 to 20 minutes across the Bay Bridge. From Berkeley and Emeryville, 10 to 15 minutes.
