It depends on team size. A group of 10–15 usually takes 1.5–2.5 hours, and 30–50 people can take half to a full day. Each person's session is only 5–10 minutes.

What do we need to provide on the day?

The Shoot Day

Do you come to our office?
Yes. Onsite team headshot days are our most requested service. We bring a complete studio, including lights, backdrops and camera, and set it up in your conference room, lobby or any open space. We work around your team’s schedule so the workday keeps moving.

What space do you need to set up onsite?
A standard conference room works well. We need an area roughly 10 by 12 feet with access to a standard power outlet. We handle everything else.

What should employees wear?
Solid colors work best on camera. Navy, charcoal, burgundy, forest green and soft neutrals all photograph well. Avoid busy patterns, logos, and bright white or neon. Well-fitted clothing at your normal workplace standard is ideal, and a second top is a good backup. We send wardrobe guidance before every shoot so your team arrives prepared.

Do our employees need any experience in front of a camera?
None at all. We direct every person through posture, expression and angle. Our job is to make everyone look their best, not just the people who are already comfortable on camera.

What backgrounds are available?
We offer white, light gray, dark gray and other neutral tones. If your organization has a brand standard, let us know and we’ll do our best to match it.

Consistency and New Hires

How do you keep headshots consistent across a large team?
Consistency is the core of what we do for teams. Every person is photographed with the same lighting, camera position, background and direction, so your whole team page looks like one organization.

What happens if someone misses the team headshot day?
Anyone who misses the shoot can book an individual session at our Jack London Square studio in Oakland ($400) using the same setup, so their headshot matches the rest of the team. We include this make-up option with every team engagement.

What about remote employees?

Can we match headshots to ones we already have?
Yes. If you have existing headshots and want new team members to match, send us a sample before booking.

Delivery

How fast will we receive the photos?
Proofing galleries arrive within 2–3 business days. Final edited images arrive within 1–2 weeks. Rush delivery in 24–48 hours is $25 per person ($250 minimum).

How are the photos delivered?
All final images are delivered through a private online gallery, where each team member can download their own photos. We can also provide a single organized download for your HR or marketing team.

Do you travel outside the Bay Area?
Yes. We’re based in Oakland and serve the whole Bay Area with no travel fees. We’re also available for onsite headshot days elsewhere in California and nationwide for larger teams. Travel outside the Bay Area is quoted separately.

Where is your studio and how do I get there?
Our studio is at 300 Jefferson Street in Jack London Square, Oakland. From San Francisco, take the SF Bay Ferry to Jack London Square, or drive 15–20 minutes across the Bay Bridge. By BART, it’s about a 15–20 minute walk from 12th Street Oakland City Center. By car, take I-880 or I-980, with street and garage parking nearby. Berkeley and Emeryville are about 10–20 minutes away.

Are AI headshots a good alternative to professional team headshots?
For individuals on a tight budget, AI headshot tools can be an option. For teams, they have a basic problem: each image is generated separately, so the results don’t match across your team page. A team page needs a consistent look, and that takes a photographer working from one documented setup.
