The Session — What to Expect
Solo sessions run 30 to 45 minutes at our private studio at Jack London Square in Oakland. The studio is purpose-built for headshot photography — professional strobe lighting, multiple backdrop options, and a tethered camera system so you can see your shots on a monitor in real time as the session progresses.
Every shot is fully directed. Posture, expression, chin angle, shoulder position, framing — nothing is left for you to figure out. If you've never had a professional headshot taken before, or if you've had them taken and hated the experience, this is different. The direction is what makes the difference between a photo that looks stiff and one that looks natural.
Sessions typically cover two to three different looks — jacket on and off, a couple of backdrop options — giving you genuine choices when the proofing gallery arrives.

Any employee who joins the company later — or who missed the original shoot — can come in for a solo session and be photographed to the same standard. Same lighting, same backdrop, same quality. By BART: Walkable from the 12th Street Oakland City Center station — about 10 minutes on foot or a quick rideshare.
By car: Easy freeway access from I-880 and I-580. Street parking available on Jack London Square.
From San Francisco: Straight shot across the Bay Bridge — 15 to 20 minutes from downtown SF depending on traffic.
From the Peninsula or South Bay: I-880 North directly to the studio.

Do I need experience in front of a camera?
